BTS member Jungkook earned another achievement as a solo artist
Jungkook’s solo song “Seven (feat. Latto)” was announced as the winner of Song of Summer at the 2023 MTV Video Musi Awards, which was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on September 13th (KST).
As such, Jungkook became the first Korean solo artist to win this category and proved his strong popularity as a solo singer as his group BTS also won this category in 2021 with the song “Butter”.
Song of Summer is a special award as it was determined by global fans’ votes. He was nominated at the MTV VMA last year for the collaboration song “Left and Right” last year and continued to get a nomination for the second year with Song of Summer. By winning the award this year, Jungkook has further certified his presence as a global solo artist.
Meanwhile, Jungkook will become the first Korean solo singer to appear at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival to be held at Central Park, New York on the 23rd as a headliner.
