CNN followed BTS Jin to enlistment scene, even had an exclusive interview

The enlistment scene of BTS member Jin is a hot topic that is widely  covered by foreign media outlets, such as CNN.

On the afternoon of December 13th (Korean time), CNN dispatched a female reporter in front of the 5th Division Recruit Training Center in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, where Jin was enlisted, and reported live that “BTS Jin begins mandatory military service in South Korea.

They also had an exclusive interview where feelings of going to the training center were shared, but instead of BTS Jin, a trainee named Kim Seok Jin from Daejeon appeared. He even expressed his wish, saying, “I’m happy to enlist at the same time with Jin. I want to be friends with him.

At this, netizens laughed and commented, “How did they find a Kim Seok Jin again?“. It is notable that BTS Jin’s full name is also Kim Seok Jin.

As previously announced through his agency, Jin entered the boot camp in a car without a separate greeting or event. All the other members, including Suga, Jungkook, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and RM, passed through the guard post in several black vehicles.

In the end, Jin and the other members did not show up in front of the reporters.

At the request of the members, most BTS fans also refrained from visiting. Still, the police and fire authorities put in about 300 people to prepare for any possible safety concerns.

On the other hand, another member of BTS, Suga, is expected to enlist as a social service worker in the future. This is due to Suga suffering from a shoulder injury while working part-time as a delivery man when he was a trainee.
