BTS Jin gets a vacation for teaching teammates to dance and helping his group win first prize at a military contest

BTS Jin has another good news to tell his fans as he is serving in the military as a part of his enlistment duty.

BTS Jin (Kim Seok Jin, 32) has been serving in the Korean Army’s 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do since December 13th last year. He is reportedly serving as an assistant instructor in the boot camp.


According to the Army, Jin applied for the position of assistant instructor and was finally selected after an evaluation test, and oral interview.

Jin is the first member to enlist since BTS declared that they would enlist. Jin’s defense obligations end on June 12th, 2024.

Recently, a “report” about Jin’s military life started circling on online communities.


In Jin’s unit, a talent contest was held just before the Lunar New Year’s Day, where Jin’s group won the first prize.

Jin taught his teammates to dance and the result of their victory was sweet. All the members of the group received one day of reward vacation.

Meanwhile, the music video of Jin’s first single album “The Astronaut,” released before he joined the army, has surpassed 61 million YouTube views.
