BTS member Jin has directly addressed the controversy surrounding his absence from the songwriting and composing credits of the group’s recent album “Arirang,” offering a candid explanation about scheduling conflicts and production timing.
The issue had previously drawn attention among fans after it was noticed that Jin’s name did not appear in the album’s main production credits, unlike the other members.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Jin explained that his absence from the creative credits was not due to exclusion, but rather overlapping schedules during a critical production period.
He shared that by the time he joined the project, the album had already progressed significantly, with “over a hundred songs already made” during the group’s songwriting camp. Jin noted that he had only a short window about a week to ten days to participate in recording test sessions.

He also emphasized that his solo tour schedule had been arranged months in advance, making it difficult to align with the group’s intensive production timeline.
Jin acknowledged that while he would have liked to participate more deeply in the creative process, the situation required practical decision-making.
He described the timing conflict as unavoidable and added that postponing his solo commitments would have delayed the group’s schedule as well. In a lighthearted remark, he noted that fans might have been disappointed if the project had been pushed back for months.

Despite the absence from credits, Jin expressed no regret, stating that opportunities would continue to come and that the decision made at the time was the most reasonable one.
The revelation has sparked renewed discussion among fans of BTS, many of whom expressed mixed feelings ranging from understanding of scheduling realities to disappointment over missing creative participation from all members.
However, Jin’s calm and pragmatic explanation has also been widely praised, with fans highlighting his team-first mindset and willingness to prioritize group timing over personal credit.
