BTS member Jin has addressed why he is the only member not listed in the production credits of the group’s latest album “Arirang,” drawing attention from fans worldwide.
During a live broadcast titled “Studio Note Arirang” on Weverse on March 20, BTS shared behind-the-scenes stories about their 5th full-length album, which includes 14 tracks such as the title song “Swim.” While members like RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jungkook, V, and Jimin participated in songwriting and composing, Jin’s name was notably absent from all credits.
RM explained the situation candidly, saying, “If Jin hyung’s tour had ended a bit earlier, he would have been able to join us more. It’s a shame.” His comment highlighted scheduling conflicts as the main reason behind Jin’s absence from the creative process.
Other members echoed similar sentiments. V shared, “There was time we could have worked together, but hyung wasn’t in the best condition. He was continuously on tour.” Jungkook also hinted at Jin’s packed schedule, adding, “Didn’t he go somewhere even before us?”
Despite not participating directly in the album’s production, Jin received heartfelt appreciation from the group. RM and Jimin expressed gratitude, saying, “He worked really hard” and “Thanks to him, we were able to protect the team and release this album.” Jungkook was seen patting Jin on the shoulder in support, while Jin responded warmly, “I’m just happy there are so many great songs,” showing his pride in the group’s work.
As the eldest member of BTS, Jin completed his military service in June 2024 and has since been actively engaging with fans. He released his first solo album “Happy” and launched his own content series “Run Jin,” along with a solo world tour of the same name.
He also appeared in various entertainment programs, including the Netflix variety show “Kian’s Bizarre B&B,” helping fill the group’s hiatus period. However, due to overlapping tour schedules, Jin joined BTS’s songwriting camp in the United States later than the other members, ultimately missing the opportunity to contribute to the album’s lyrics and compositions.
Even without his name in the credits, Jin’s presence and efforts behind the scenes were clearly recognized by both the members and fans, reinforcing his role as a key pillar of BTS during a crucial period.
