BTS Jimin proves “Jimin’s effect” with whopping generated media value

BTS Jimin reaffirmed his unrivaled global influence with high brand value.

Jimin uploaded a black-and-white photo on Instagram last month with an invitation to Dior’s “2024 Summer Men’s Clothes Collection Show” fashion show.

According to the announcement of the influencer’s marketing platform Lefty, Jimin’s single post earned more than $5.6 million and KRW 7.3 billion in media value. Notably, Jimin was in second place in the influencer’s earned media value (EMV) even though he did not partake in the Paris Fashion Week at the time.

Dior selected Jimin as a global ambassador in January and subsequently ranked sixth in the 2023 Luxury and Premium Brand Value Ranking, up one notch from last year, with its brand value soaring more than $4 million year-on-year to $13.152 million in 2023, the largest increase among the top 10 brands.

Dior’s rise in value also led to new achievements in the online ranking of luxury brands in 2023, which was announced by LUXE DISITAL, becoming the most popular online luxury brand for the first time, surpassing Gucci.

Jimin’s brand power has been proven right after he was selected. Dior’s stock price reached 789 euros per share just two days after news of Jimin’s selection as a global ambassador, the highest in 31 years since Dior went public on the stock market in 1992.

In addition, Tiffany & Co, which selected Jimin as a global ambassador in March, rose two ranks from 11th last year to 9th place in the 2023 Luxury and Premium Ranking. It was the only Jewelry brand to rank 8th.

LUXE DISITAL announced the online ranking of luxury brands in 2023 and emphasized the impact Jimin brings to brands. They state that the BTS member adds a touch of modern trend to historic jewelry houses.

After Jimin’s selection as Ambassador, fans went on to Dior and Tiffany &Co.’s online pages and offline stores to purchase Jimin’s endorsed items.
