BTS Jimin is the first idol to receive helicopter banner for exclusive routes in the U.S, proving ‘JIMIN EFFECT’
The helicopter project for Jimin’s birthday is the first overseas event that is allowed in New York since the September 11th terrorist attacks.
In celebration of BTS Jimin‘s 27th birthday on October 13th, a helicopter carrying a birthday message for Jimin’s exclusive route flying above New York. The fact that this is the first event to be allowed in New York after the 911 terrorist attack has made it became a hot topic.
Hosted by Jimin’s Chinese fanbase “JiminBar China”, the ‘Airborne Love’ project’s customized helicopter flew from George Washington Bridge to Hudson Park in New York, USA. On its route, the helicopter carried the message banner for Jimin’s birthday passing through Ellis Island and Liberty Island, where the U.S symbol – the Statue of Liberty is situated. The helicopter also flew an Australian route above the sky of the 42-km-long beach of Gold Coast.
JiminBar China also explained why they chose this location, saying, “About 3 million people in New York and 600,000 people in Australia can see the banner. This will have a high promotional effect.“. The video showing the helicopter hanging Jimin’s birthday banner flying over Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast and New York’s symbol, the Statue of Liberty, has drawn great attention from not only the public but also domestic and foreign media.
In particular, people were most surprised with the exclusive route over New York in the U.S. Since the 911 terrorist attack, the U.S has enacted a special law not allowing anything to fly over New York. It is known that it is really difficult to obtain permission to fly a civilian aircraft or a jet over the New York’s sky.
When the helicopter event for Jimin’s birthday was on the verge of being canceled, the New York governor sent an emergency letter and allowed a helicopter for a personal event to fly over New York for the first time.
The fact that Jimin’s exclusive route flight received permission from the New York State has once again proved the popularity of BTS Jimin, known as ‘Jimerica (Jimin+America)’. Therefore, Jimin’s significant influence has continued to surprise fans and netizens.
