Starting with the eldest Jin and concluding with the youngest Jungkook, all members have enlisted, temporarily halting BTS’s group activities. Despite the hiatus, anticipation is high as all members are expected to complete their military service and return by 2025.
Jin enlisted in December last year and has been serving as an assistant instructor since July. J-Hope, who enlisted in April, also received attention for achieving the Special Forces qualification. Suga, on the other hand, began alternative service as a public service worker in September and will complete his military service in June 2025.
RM & V, Jimin & Jungkook enlisted on different dates in November. V applied to the Special Duty Team (SDT) of the Army Capital Defense Command, while Jimin and Jungkook joined the 5th Infantry Division’s recruit training center, where Jin is serving as an assistant instructor, resulting in a special reunion.
In their 10th-anniversary year, BTS celebrated with the “2023 BTS Festa”, featuring various events such as the online streaming festival “BANGBANGCON”. Although a full-group stage could not happen due to Jin’s enlistment, the members achieved significant individual milestones through various solo activities.
The 2025 return of all members coincides with the 10th anniversary of their 2015 album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life”. Big Hit Chairman Bang Si-hyuk has hinted at a special album release to commemorate this occasion, expressing excitement about the prospect. Despite the temporary hiatus until Jin’s discharge in June next year, expectations for the members’ return are higher than ever.
