The best-selling female artist was TWICE with 7,299,094 copies.
The best-selling male artist was BTS. According to Gaon Chart, BTS sold a total of 32,783,223 albums.
In the solo category, Girls’ Generation Taeyeon recorded the highest number among female solo artists with 1,051,567 copies. EXO Baekhyun was named the best-selling male solo artist after selling 2,657,711 albums.
There were a total of 10 teams (3 soloists, 7 groups) that surpassed the cumulative sales of 1 million copies. A total of 7 teams (1 soloist, 6 groups) sold over 2 million copies, 3 teams sold over 3 million copies, 2 teams sold over 4 million copies and 3 teams sold over 10 million copies.
