Global supergroup BTS has once again been nominated for top honors at one of the “Big Three” U.S. music awards, the American Music Awards.
According to the official 2026 AMAs nominations announced on April 14 (local time), BTS earned three nominations, including the grand prize category Artist of the Year. They were also nominated for Song of the Summer with their latest title track “SWIM” from their 5th full-length album “ARIRANG”, as well as Best Male K-pop Artist.
Notably, “SWIM” secured a nomination for Song of the Summer less than a month after its release. The track is competing against major global hits, including songs by Harry Styles and Taylor Swift.
The nominations are based on data collected from March 21 of last year to March 26 this year, analyzing streaming numbers, album sales, and radio airplay through Billboard and Luminate metrics, reflecting overall public impact.

BTS previously made history in 2021 as the first Korean act to win Artist of the Year. With this latest nomination, anticipation is growing for a potential second grand prize victory. This year, they are competing against global stars such as Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga.
Beyond BTS, rising global girl group KATSEYE also made a strong impression with three nominations, including New Artist of the Year, Best Music Video, and Breakthrough Pop Artist.

Additionally, Jennie collaborated with Tame Impala on a remix of “Dracula”, which was also nominated for Song of the Summer.
Meanwhile, the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, which has already won both a Grammy and an Academy Award, continues its global momentum with a nomination for Best Soundtrack. The fictional girl group “HUNTRIX” featured in the film also gained attention, with vocalists Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami earning nominations in categories such as Song of the Year, Best Vocal Performance, and Best Pop Song.
The American Music Awards, alongside the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards, is considered one of the top three major music awards in the United States. This year’s ceremony will take place on May 25 (local time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.

Following their comeback, BTS has continued to break records. Their album “ARIRANG” and title track “SWIM” simultaneously topped the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts dated April 4. BTS also became the first Korean act to hold the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 for three consecutive weeks, while “SWIM” has remained in the Top 5 of the Hot 100 for three weeks.
The group has also successfully launched their world tour. BTS kicked off the “BTS World Tour ‘ARIRANG’” with three sold-out concerts at Goyang Stadium on April 9 and April 11–12, drawing approximately 132,000 attendees. The shows were also streamed globally through live viewing in cinemas and via the platform Weverse, reaching audiences in 194 countries and regions.
After a successful start, BTS will continue their tour with upcoming stops in Tokyo on April 17–18, followed by performances across North America, Europe, South America, and Asia, totaling 85 shows in 34 cities worldwide.
