Chinese media outlet Sohu reported on February 4th, “According to foreign media, France’s first K-pop behind-the-scenes novel will focus on BLACKPINK Lisa’s story.”

It added, “The novel was written by a young French author, J.DufresneLamy, and will be published by a publisher well-known for their novels “Steve Jobs” and “The Da Vinci Code.”

The recent fame of Lisa in France has been intensifying as she participated in a charity concert at the Accor Arena in Paris, hosted by Brigitte Macron, the First Lady of France. Moments capturing the First Lady’s affectionate gestures towards Lisa further demonstrate the allure and influence of BLACKPINK’s youngest member in France.

However, the exploitation of Lisa as a character in a novel published by JC Lattès has raised concerns among fans. In 2013, actress Scarlett Johansson sued the French publishing company JC Lattès for using her name in a book without permission.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scarlett Johansson seeks compensation for damages due to the “invasion of privacy” after JC Lattes released a novel referring to her. Specifically, the book contains a detailed description of the fictional character’s work resembling Scarlett Johansson. Although later pages clarify that the woman in question is not Scarlett Johansson, the Hollywood actress still decided to file a lawsuit against the publishing company.

The controversy from a decade ago has raised concerns among fans about the authenticity and whether Lisa is aware of her presence in the novel. Nevertheless, many are still eager to see how the exploited story about Lisa will be adapted into a novel.
