(G)I-DLE Minnie & Yuqi Liked The Same Guy At The Same Time? “That’s Why We Set A New Rule”

JTBC’s “Knowing Bros” broadcast on February 3rd featured the girl group (G)I-DLE, who recently made their comeback with the new song “Super Lady”.

On the broadcast, Yuqi surprised everyone when she revealed she used to feel awkward with Minnie because of a man.

Yuqi shared, “We’ve been active for 7 years so I think I can talk about this now”, adding “Minnie and I came to Korea before Shuhua and we were roommates. We were very close to each other and we had no secret at all. We were only 16 or 17 back then.”

Recalling the past, she honestly confessed, “After coming to Korea, I met many people. There were girls and boys, you know. At that time, there was a person that I had feelings for and we were in touch with each other”.

She continued, “One day, Minnie was drying her hair and a Kakaotalk message popped up on her phone. It was that person’s name. I had never heard Minnie say she was in contact with him. I felt very frustrated so I asked Minnie, ‘Are you in contact with that friend?’, and she said, ‘You too?’. Since then, we felt very awkward with each other. It was like we had done something wrong to each other”.

Afterward, Yuqi and Minnie decided to set a rule, promising to never like the same person if they were put on the same team. Later, it became the rule for the whole group (G)I-DLE.

Leader Soyeon then said, “We promised to talk to each other as soon as we get in touch with someone”.

Hearing the story, Lee Jin-ho asked, “Was that person in the same company at that time?”, but Yuqi kept silent. Lee Jin-ho then commented, “I know who he is. Isn’t he comedian Lee Sang-joon?”, drawing laughter.
