BLACKPINK’s Lisa Criticized for Eating McDonalds Amid Boycott Movement for Palestine

As people are boycotting McDonalds to show support for Palestine, BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s recent action has sparked criticisms.

On March 6, the official Instagram account of LLOUD, Lisa’s personal label, published a video of the behind the scenes of Lisa’s recent trip to Paris for Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter Fashion show.

In the video, Lisa dazzles the viewers with her flawless figure and impressive fashion sense, however, one detail in particular draws criticism.

Particularly, a snippet of the video shows Lisa eating food from McDonalds, garnering attention.

It is important to notice that McDonalds is currently being heavily boycotted as part of the BDS movement, which “works to end international support for Israel’s oppression of Palestinians and pressure Israel to comply with international law.”

The BDS Movement asks people to boycott against brands that have previously shown support for Israel, including Starbucks and McDonalds.

In fact, K-pop companies and artists have previously been heavily criticized for promoting Starbucks, and Jeon Somi’s SNS was even filled with hate comments following a video of herself showing off a Starbucks cup.

Lisa eating McDonalds is no exception, and thus fell under criticism as well.

Across SNS platforms X (formerly Twitter), many fans have been expressing disappointment. Some even call for other fans to start messaging Lisa’s manager about the issue.
