BLACKPINK’s Jisoo’s “Snowdrop” becomes the most mentioned series in 2022

“Snowdrop”, Jisoo’s first television series as the lead character, is the most tweeted about this year.

According to Allkpop, the number of mentions on Twitter related to Korean artists and events have increased to 546% for the last 10 years. The influence of Kpop fans is considered to be a globalizing effect of Korea-related content such as movies, television shows and webtoons. Most noticeably, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is an exemplary case that leads to the exponential growth of Twitter mentions about television series after she made an acting debut as the leading character  in “Snowdrop”.

Signs of BLACKPINK comeback

Specifically, “Snowdrop” is one of the most tweeted about Korean television series in 2022, resulting from the actress’ first go at the filming scene as the main character. Following the series’ airing, despite its ensuing controversies, Jisoo’s acting is still lauded and the series itself can be a career opening for the idol-turned-actress.

Moreover, “Snowdrop” surpassed other most talked-about Korean television shows on social media such as “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One”, “Business Proposal” and “All of Us Are Dead”.

Jennie is another BLACKPINK’s member who is making her way into the filming industry. While Jisoo’s debut series was in Korea, Jennie is the first Korean idol to make an appearance in a Hollywood series, “The Idol”. Step by step, Korean talents are making themselves known in foreign markets.
