BLACKPINK held a press conference ahead of their official comeback
At 10 am on the 19th, a press conference was held to commemorate the release of Blackpink‘s 2nd regular album ‘Pink Venom’.
Jisoo said, “We’re finally making a comeback. I’m excited and happy to make a comeback with new music.” Talking about “Pink Venom”, she emphasized, “It’s a hip-hop song with a very strong beat from the intro. It’s full of new charms, such as the intro with Geomungo Saud and an addictive hook.”
Jennie said, “I’m back with great music as much as you’ve waited. Please look forward to it.” Talking about why they chose “Pink Venom” as the pre-release track, she said: “I thought about it a lot and I wanted to show BLACKPINK’s identity. Pink and Venom have reversal meanings, so I wanted to express a feeling that reminds us of ourselves “
Expressing her feeling, Rosé said, “I’m excited to have a new song released. We prepared a lot, so please look forward to it.” She continued: “I think the title of ‘Pink Venom’ itself is our keyword. There is a saying in the lyrics, ‘You’re so beautiful that you’re cruel’. Those two words conjure up contradictory images.”
Lisa said, “All the songs on the 2nd regular album are so good, but this song [Pink Venom] was the first thing I wanted Blink to hear. After listening to this song, you will be looking forward to the title track of the 2nd full album.”
BLACKPINK will release the song and music video of “Pink Venom” at 1 p.m. on the same day. On the 28th, the group will perform at “MTV VMAs,” one of the four major music awards ceremonies in the U.S., becoming the first K-pop girl group to do so. After releasing their second full-length album on September 16, they will embark on a large-scale world tour starting in Seoul and continuing in North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, respectively.
