BLACKPINK’s Jennie received an offer from Usher, who is nicknamed the king of R&B
BLACKPINK’s Jennie attended the Chanel fashion show in Paris on October 3rd (local time), where she stood shoulder to shoulder with Usher. As a video capturing the conversation between the two was released, we could also see the affection for Jennie expressed by Usher.
In the video, the singer talked to Usher about her upcoming album. Usher asked Jennie if she was making an album first, and indicated that he wanted to work with her. Jennie responded with a bright smile, expressing joy at Usher’s suggestion.
When the video was released, fans were excited to see the interaction between Jennie and Usher. It is also surprising that Usher, who has a huge impact as the king of R&B, first showed his intention to cooperate with Jennie.
Jennie has not confirmed whether she will renew her contract with YG Entertainment, but has said she will release a solo album. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last month, Jennie hinted that she was making the most Jennie-like and Jennie’s own unique song.
The idol also cited hip-hop and R&B as her musical tastes.
Jennie will release a special single “You & Me” on October 6th. “You and Me” is a song that was first sung as Jennie’s solo performance on the Black Pink World Tour. YG Entertainment said, “We decided to officially release it for the fans who joined us on the world tour.”
It is not yet known whether BLACKPINK, who debuted in 2016 and whose contract expired in August this year, will renew their contract. Despite several reports of renewal or failure to renew the contract, YG Entertainment is still stating that “it has not been confirmed and is under discussion.”
