BLACKPINK has won their next VMA award!
At the “2022 MTV Video Music Awards” (2022 MTV VMAs) held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on the morning of the 29th (KST), BLACKPINK was honored in the Best Metaverse Performance category.
Accordingly, at the pre-show held before the main awards ceremony, BLACKPINK won the Best Metaverse Performance category with the “Black Pink X PUBG Mobile 2022 In-Game Concert [The Virtual]” held within the Battleground mobile game.
Rosé, who took the stage and received the award, said, “It was so much fun doing the project, and I’m so grateful that I got this award.” Lisa then smiled as she lifted the trophy.
Asked about her bucket list at “2022 MTV VMAs,” Jennie said, “It’s my first time attending this event, and I’m happy to be here.”
Meanwhile, in addition to “Best Metaverse Performance,” BLACKPINK was nominated for a total of three categories, “Group of the Year” and “Best K-pop” (Lisa).
MTV VMAs, which began in 1987, is considered one of the top four pop music awards in the United States, along with the Grammy Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, and the American Music Awards. BLACKPINK is the first K-pop female artist to be invited to the MTV VMAs stage.
