With just 1 day left until the release of her solo debut album, “ME”, BLACKPINK Jisoo spoke her mind in a recent interview.
BLACKPINK Jisoo’s first solo album “ME”, which will be released at 1PM (KST) on March 31st, captures Jisoo’s various colors, which has not been seen before, through the title song “Flower” and the track ‘All Eyes On Me.’
Having participated in the overall production process of the album for a long time, Jisoo introduced the main points of her first album and shared her feelings about her solo debut through an interview provided by her agency, YG Entertainment.
In particular, Jisoo said, “It was a fun journey to find the music that I can do best and only I can do,” and “I hope that the listeners will discover a new Jisoo”.

What kind of songs are the title song “Flower” and the track “All Eyes On Me”?
“Flower” is a song that best represents me, with a good harmony in vocals, performance, and visual elements, so it was chosen as the title song. From the moment I heard the demo in the studio, it felt like destiny. It’s a dance song with lyrical lyrics, which gives it a twist, and the hook part is very addictive. “All Eyes On Me” is a song I have a special affection for, as it was prepared as a candidate for the title song. It has a cheerful yet fatal feeling. I think many people will love it as much as I do.
You’ve set new records even before the comeback, such as breaking 1.3 million pre-orders and achieving the highest number of single album sales for a K-pop female solo artist.
Every time I hear the modifier “first”, I get excited and amazed. I am grateful for the support and expectations of many fans, and I think I should work even harder. I am doing my best until the end to repay their expectations. I am so happy to be able to release a solo album while starting this year and last year’s finale with the fans through the world tour. It wasn’t prepared with the season in mind, but the timing of releasing the album in the spring when flowers bloom was just right. It is a good start!
What are your plans and goals for this promotion?
I have already achieved my goal by meeting the fans as a solo artist, Jisoo. If there’s more to ask for, it’s to raise the “happiness index” of our BLINKs (official fandom name)! I have prepared an event for the fans, and I also wrote a message for BLINKs in the album. Although it’s not easy during the world tour, I am working to create opportunities to communicate more closely with the fans off the stage. I hope we can gain energy together.
