BLACKPINK Jennie and a series of Korean female stars under fire for following this trend!
The Underboob trend that are loved by Jennie, HyunA, and many Korean female stars is criticized for being too revealing and offensive.
According to Mydaily, Underboob is popular but also controversial in Kpop. This trend is understood as “super crop top” with tops that reveal the lower bust. Underboob is popular with many Korean singers recently.
BlackPink’s Jennie was one of the first to try the Underboob trend when she was in Hawaii in early March. The pink crop top Jennie wore was from the Jacquemus Spring 2022 Ready-to-Wear Show collection. Solo artist BIBI also opted for a similar style during a recent appearance on Entertainment Tonight. Her outfit is said to be even bolder than Jennie’s.
Chaewon also wore a bold crop top, revealing her lower chest in a video introducing the group Le Sserafim. HyunA is also one of the female stars actively promoting this fashion style.
The audience criticized the above fashion style and thought it was too revealing. “Men’s fashion has barely changed, but women’s clothing is increasingly revealing. It’s annoying to see that kind of clothing”, “The reason why women’s rights are being degraded more and more is that they show their bodies more and more”, “If you raise your arms or the wind blows, you run the risk of exposing your entire bust,” the audience criticized.
However, many viewers defended the idols and said that it’s everyone’s right to wear what they want.
