Bbaek Ga recently shared a nerve-wracking travel story, revealing that he was once detained at a U.S. airport after security mistakenly suspected him of carrying ammunition.
The Koyote member appeared on the June 11 broadcast of Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show alongside comedian Shim Jin Hwa and singer Sleepy, where the guests exchanged memorable stories about difficulties they had experienced while traveling.
During the broadcast, Bbaek Ga looked back on a business trip to the United States and recalled an alarming moment that happened while returning to Korea. According to him, he arrived at the airport baggage claim only to realize his luggage was nowhere to be found.
After waiting for quite some time, his suitcase eventually appeared — but something immediately felt unusual.
Bbaek Ga explained that his luggage had been tightly wrapped in chains, which instantly caught him off guard. Security personnel then informed him that what appeared to be a bullet casing had been discovered inside his suitcase.
The singer admitted he was completely shocked at the time and quickly checked the contents of his bag. To his surprise, there really was an item shaped like a bullet inside.
However, Bbaek Ga explained that the object was not an actual piece of ammunition. Instead, it was a novelty item he had received for free at a prop shop while shopping in the U.S.
He recalled that the shop owner had gifted him a modified bullet-shaped bottle opener made from an emptied casing with the gunpowder removed and grooves carved into it.
Despite the explanation, airport authorities still treated the situation seriously. Bbaek Ga revealed that he ended up undergoing questioning for nearly an hour before being cleared, laughing as he reflected on the stressful misunderstanding.
Born in 1981, Bbaek Ga — whose real name is Baek Sung Hyun — joined Koyote during the release of the group’s sixth album in 2004. Since then, he has received love for hit songs including Wish, Storm, Our Dream, Sad Dream, Entreaty, and Broken Heart.
Beyond music, Bbaek Ga has built a diverse career as a photographer, television personality, and entrepreneur, expanding his influence across multiple fields.
Most recently, he touched viewers with an emotional appearance on the June 9 episode of the MBN variety show Namui Jip Gwihan Gajok, where he was seen tearing up during fellow Koyote member Shinji’s wedding ceremony.
Bbaek Ga continues to stay connected with fans through his personal social media accounts and various online content, regularly sharing updates from both his professional and personal life.
