Bang Si Hyuk reportedly purchased ‘35 billion won’ Bel Air mansion in the richest area of Los Angeles

Bang Si Hyuk, HYBE’s Chairman and music producer, is known to have purchased a mansion worth 35 billion won in LA, the U.S.

According to the real estate media outlet Dirt on April 14th (local time), HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk bought a mansion located on Bel Air Stradella Road, the most expensive residential area in Los Angeles, California with $26.4 million (approximately 35 billion won) last year.

Comedian Trevor Noah previously purchased the mansion from architect Mark Rios with $27.5 million (approximately 3.65 billion won) at the end of 2020 and stayed there for a year. Last year, the house was reported to have been sold to Bang Si Hyuk.

Located atop the ridge of a hill, the mansion was completed in 2017 as a residence for Mark Rios. It’s a three-story building with over 309 pyeong (around 11,000 square feet) of living space, consisting of six bedrooms and more than nine bathrooms, and staff to manage the house. In addition, the mansion is similar to a customized five-star hotel, with a library, gym, lounge, and a separate wine room. There is also a yard, an outdoor kitchen and bar, an infinity pool, a sauna, massage facilities, and a rooftop terrace.

Explaining the reason Bang Si Hyuk purchased the mansion, Dirt stated, “In recent years, Bang has spent an increasing amount of time in the U.S., reportedly to aid his company’s expansion efforts stateside.”

Bang Si Hyuk graduated from the Department of Aesthetics of Seoul National University and used to work at JYP Entertainment as a chief producer. He has made various hit songs, such as god’s “Sky Blue Balloon”, Rain’s “Bad Guy”, Baek Ji Young’s “Like Being Shot By a Bullet” & “My Ear’s Candy”, 2AM “Never Let You Go”, etc.

In 2005, he founded Big Hit Entertainment and introduced the boy group BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook) in 2013. As the group became extremely successful with numerous hit songs he made, Bang Si Hyuk also established himself as a world-class producer.

According to Forbes, Chairman Bang Si Hyuk’s net worth is currently $2.4 billion (about 3.1867 trillion won).
