Singer Baek Ji-young recently opened up about a difficult experience involving her daughter, revealing that the child faced exclusion from a classmate during her kindergarten years. The story was shared in a video released on June 4 through the YouTube channel Compassion, where Baek Ji Young spoke about motherhood, parenting, and her family’s faith.
While discussing her daughter, Ha Im, the singer recalled how emotional it was to hear that her child had been treated unkindly by another student.

According to Baek Ji Young, her daughter encountered a classmate who would tell her things such as, “Don’t follow me,” “I don’t like you,” and “Go away.” Although she emphasized that the child likely did not have bad intentions, hearing about the situation was heartbreaking. “As a mother, hearing those words being said to my young daughter made me so angry,” she admitted.
Baek Ji Young revealed that she even considered speaking to the other child’s parent about the situation. However, her daughter asked her not to get involved. What surprised the singer most was her daughter’s response. According to Baek Ji Young, Ha Im said that even Jesus endured situations like this, which left her reflecting on her child’s maturity and faith.

The singer also discussed her parenting philosophy, explaining that one of her main principles is not raising her voice at her child. Baek Ji Young said she believes discipline and anger are two different things. While she can be strict when necessary, she prefers to correct behavior firmly and directly rather than react emotionally. “I discipline my child, but I don’t get angry,” she explained. “I make it short, clear, and firm.” She added that she has never shouted at her daughter and tries to guide her through calm but consistent parenting.
Baek Ji Young married actor Jung Suk Won in 2013, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Ha Im, in 2017. The singer has frequently shared stories about motherhood, often highlighting the lessons she has learned while raising her child.
