BABYMONSTER to Drop New Song on February 1, So Fresh It’s Never-seen-before in YG

On January 1, 2024, at midnight, YG Entertainment released the video “BABYMONSTER NEXT PHASE | YG Announcement” through its official YouTube channel. The video marked the official appearance of Yang Hyun-suk, YG’s chief producer, and explained BABYMONSTER’s future activities.

In particular, Yang Hyun-suk said, “In cases like 2NE1 or BLACKPINK, except for a few members, they debuted in their 20s, having passed their minor years. But in the case of BABYMONSTER, if you ask what the big difference is, these members debuted much younger and earlier than their seniors did. Chiquita is currently 14 years old”.

“In the past, with BIGBANG, 2NE1, BLACKPINK, it was like treating them as junior artists, but with BABYMONSTER… My daughter is currently 13 years old. Chiquita is only a year older than her. So now, rather than feeling like they’re junior artists in the industry, I find myself caring for them as if they were my own daughters”, the producer added

With the comprehensive support of YG Entertainment and Yang Hyun-suk, BABYMONSTER will release their second new song on February 1, titled “Stuck In The Middle”.

Regarding this song, Yang Hyun-suk expressed his personal impression, saying that it is not a hip-hop track, and is “so fresh” that it sounds like something never released at YG before.

“Whenever I listen to this song, I close my eyes. It feels like being in a state of zero gravity in outer space. The skills and unique colors of the members’ vocals make me want to focus on even the smallest breath. It makes me focus intensely when listening. I think it’s a song that can be described as ‘beautiful’”, he also added.

Furthermore, Yang Hyun-suk announced that following the release of ‘Stuck In The Middle,’ BABYMONSTER will also release their first mini-album in April. Reflecting actively on fan opinions, YG’s unique promotion strategy deviates from the conventional style, seeking to add more momentum.
