Attention focused on Yoo Ah In’s forensic result: Will the career of this top star end in his 30s?

Yoo Ah In, Korea’s leading box office star, is in danger of having his career collapsed due to suspicions of illegal propofol use.

February 20th is the day when the result of a detailed examination of the National Forensic Service will be released for actor Yoo Ah, who was initially caught in suspicion of illegal propofol use. However, according to the interim briefing of the police, the release of the results is expected to be delayed.

After returning to Los Angeles on February 5th, Yoo Ah In was investigated by the police once on charges of illegal use of propofol. After that, through a test by the National Forensic Service, Yoo Ah In reportedly tested positive for marijuana, causing a major stir.

An official from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said at a regular press conference on February 13th, “The Drug Crime Investigation Unit is investigating Yoo Ah In for violating the Narcotics Control Act. We will investigate him further as soon as the final results of the National Forensic Service come out.”

At the time, the police revised their position that it would take about two to three weeks for the final result. Accordingly, it is expected that accurate results will come out only at the beginning of March, not on February 20th, like what was originally known.

In the advertising industry, pictures of Yoo Ah In are being quickly taken down. Nevertheless, there are a lot of cautious opinions that the NFS results should be confirmed first before “canceling” Yoo Ah In. Previously, actor Lee Sang Bo suffered from being misunderstood as an actor taking drugs because the antidepressants he was taking contained a small amount of psychoactive ingredients. As these can be similar situations, it is too early to make a conclusion based on the results of a simple test.

Yoo Ah In’s agency UAA also announced its position, saying, “We are actively cooperating with all investigations. We will actively explain the problematic part.”

Yoo Ah In is Korea’s leading actor in his 30s and a box office star with a huge influence. He has been a success guarantee for both movies and dramas for years. Some of his most outstanding works include “Veteran”, “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, “Six Flying Dragons”, “Burning”, “Hellbound”, etc.

In addition, Yoo Ah In has always received a lot of attention outside of acting. He has always made headlines with his stylish fashion sense, his outspoken words and actions.  Since his debut, Yoo Ah In has firmly maintained his position as a representative youth star and trendsetter.

Currently, Yoo Ah In has three lead roles that are about to be released, such as the movies “The Match”, “High Five,” and the drama “Goodbye Earth”. He hasn’t started filming “Hellbound 2” yet, but his appearance was already scheduled.

In addition, amid this controversy, a civil petitioner has raised the suspicion of Yoo Ah In receiving preferential treatment in military service again as he was previously exempted due to a diagnosis of osteosarcoma.

In the midst of back-to-back bad news, the career Yoo Ah In has built over the past 20 years, as well as the trust and love of the public and his fans, is in danger of collapsing.

Attention is focused on whether Yoo Ah In will be able to overturn the criticism through the NFS test results, and whether the public will have to let another star go from their hearts.
