ASTRO MJ visited Moonbin’s mortuary after taking “emergency leave” while serving in the military

ASTRO MJ took a leave of absence from military service and visited Moonbin’s mortuary.

On April 20th, ASTRO’s agency Fantagio announced their official position, “MJ immediately took a leave of absence after hearing the news of Moonbin’s death and visited Moonbin’s mortuary.”

MJ entered the training center on May 9th last year and has been fulfilling his military duty in the military band. He reportedly applied for an emergency leave after receiving the sudden sad news from his unit.

Shocked by the sudden news, ASTRO members MJ, JinJin, and Sanha are watching over the funeral hall together. Cha Eun Woo, who was staying in the United States, is hurriedly returning to Korea upon hearing the news.

Meanwhile, according to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, Moonbin was found dead at his residence in Gangnam-gu around 8 pm (KST) on April 19th. The police are investigating the exact cause behind his death.

Fantagio, the agency of ASTRO, also released a statement saying, “We apologize for having to convey this heartbreaking and painful news”, adding, “ASTRO member Moonbin has suddenly left us and become a star in the sky.”

Moonbin’s funeral hall is set up at the Seoul Asan Hospital Funeral Home, and the funeral procession will take place on April 22nd.
