As Spin-off Is Postponed, “Hospital Playlist” Season 3 Will Be Produced
Season 3 of "Hospital Playlist" might come to the audience.
In a video uploaded on the YouTube channel “15 Ya Full Moon” (The Game Cater) on April 12, the cast and producer of the hit drama “Hospital Playlist” appeared as guests. One of the drama’s cast members (also nicknamed the 99s), Jung Kyung-ho, openly asked producer Shin Won-ho about the production of the show’s season 3. Actor Yoo Yeon-seok, who was next to him, also said, “Making ‘Hospital Playlist 3’ was our original plan” and actress Jeon Mi-do then showed her high expectations.
At this, producer Shin Won-ho confidently said, “I’ll do it. I’ll do it someday.” Jo Jung-seok, the oldest member of the 99s, said, “Even when the five of us get older, wouldn’t it be a vibe? I think I’ll want to see how our characters get old.“
In response, producer Shin Won-ho said, “I’m just so grateful that these good actors want it to be like this, and the fans want it to be like this. Because you would ask me to do it (season 3) anyway. It’s hard to gather such actors.”
“I talked to writer Lee Woo-jung. I didn’t think ‘I’m going to worry about it again’ but thought that ‘I don’t like passing by like this’ because I love the time we’ve been doing it. I won’t do it if one of you doesn’t act in it. I would be happy even if the ratings was not good,” he added.
In response, Jo Jung-seok said, “At some point, ‘Hospital Playlist’ has a big place in my heart. Acting together, crying and talking together were seen in the drama, but it was real for us. It was a strange feeling that I had never felt before. I missed you guys so much.”
Meanwhile, viewers naturally had high expectations for the third season of “Hospital Playlist” thanks to the ending featuring the 99s’ last story. However, producer Shin Won-ho chose “Resident Playbook” as his next production instead of the third season. This is a spin-off of “Hospital Playbook.”
However, the strike by Korean hospital residents that began on Feb. 20 has made this project postponed to this day. Against this backdrop, producer Shin Won-ho has openly confirmed “Hospital Playlist” season 3. Although it will not be realized immediately, he has reaffirmed the wishes of 99s members and viewers.
