JTBC’s Fri-Sat-Sun drama “Reborn Rich” swept the OTT platform Viu in major Asian countries at high speed as soon as it was released.
According to Asia’s largest OTT platform Viu on Dec 1st, “Reborn Rich” was the most watched show in Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines for about 10 days when episodes 1~6 were released. Moreover, the gap with the second place was also considerable.
In the case of “Reborn Rich”, Viu exclusively purchased overseas broadcasting rights and resold them to local partners around the world, so the interest and affection were even more special.
An official from Viu analyzed, “It’s very impressive in that it has surpassed genre limits. Asian viewers often like the romance comedy genre the most among K-dramas. ‘Reborn Rich’ is a corporate drama, but it’s receiving great love for its solid story and Song Joong Ki‘s presence.“
Viu is Asia’s largest OTT platform. Aside from “Reborn Rich”, Korean dramas with various genres such as “Three Bold Siblings”, “Cheer Up”, “Bad Prosecutor” and “Blind” are being serviced. Earlier, “The Law Cafe” and “If You Wish Upon Me” led the K-drama craze as they were greatly loved in 16 countries, including Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
