April results for Artist Top Ten’s Kpop Boy Brand category is out: BTS not in the first place?

TenAsia recently revealed their picks for the Top 10 male Kpop artists for the month of April.

EXO, Kang Daniel, SHINee, Stray Kids, Tempest, Super Junior, Highlight, ASTRO, MONSTA X, and BTS became the Kpop Boy Brand winners of TenAsia’s ‘Artist Top Ten’ in April. 

The voting for ‘Artist Top Ten’ was held from April 18 to April 28, and was divided into three categories, including: the Kpop Boy Brand Award, the Kpop Girl Brand Award, and the Hot Genre Brand Award. 

The full list (with rankings) is as follows: 

1st – EXO

2nd – Kang Daniel

3rd – SHINee

4th – Stray Kids

5th – Tempest 

6th – Super Junior 

7th – Highlight

8th – ASTRO

9th – MONSTA X 

10th – BTS 

EXO took 1st place in Kpop Boy Brand, with 2600 points in the Media Index, 5900 points in the Global Popularity Index, and 930 points in the Google Trends Index, resulting in a total of 9430 points.

Coming in 2nd is Kang Daniel, who scored 2950 points in the Media Index, 5700 points in the Global Popularity Index, 930 points in the Google Trends Index, amounting to a total of 9390 points.

The 3rd place belongs to SHINee, who scored 2300 points in the Media Index, 6000 points in the Global Popularity Index, 980 points in the Google Trends Index, which led to a total of 9280 points. It is also important to note that SHINee took first place in the global popularity point. 

Stray Kids takes up the 4th position, with 2850 points in the Media Index, 5400 points in the Global Popularity Index, 940 points in the Google Trends Index, coming to a total of 9190 points.

Tempest, who is in 5th place, scored 2400 points in the Media Index, 5800 points in the Global Popularity Index, 790 points in the Google Trends Index, reaching a total of 8990 points.

The remaining positions are filled by Super Junior, Highlight, Astro, MONSTA, and BTS.

The total scores for ‘Artist Top Ten’ are calculated with 30% Media Index (using data from the IDOL Champ’s Index and that of online music site Melon), 60% Global Popularity Index (using fans’ vote), and 10% Google Trends Index. 

For the Kpop Boy Brand and Kpop Girl Brand categories, candidates are selected from idol groups and solos in Melon Artist Chart and Idol Champ’s Monthly Chart. Meanwhile, the Hot Genre Brand category will include the top 30 Korean groups and solo artists with a history of entering the Melon Chart and Idol Champ Monthly Chart in February.
