Whenever the couple wanted to meet, she reportedly had to hide under blankets on the floor of a car to enter or leave Andy Lau’s home without being seen. Her father was a major businessman in real estate, hospitality, and aviation in Penang, while her uncle ranks among Malaysia’s top 10 richest individuals, with business interests spanning hotels, insurance, tourism, and television.

Carol Chu is also connected to other prominent figures, including billionaire Zhu Zhaoxiang, the husband of actress Hu Jing. With such a formidable background, Carol Chu still chose to step back and remain the woman behind Andy Lau.
