Aiki (32) is drawing attention as she retold the reactions of her in-laws and parents when she and her husband announced their marriage.
Dancer Aiki appeared as a special MC in SBS’s “Same Bed Different Dreams Season 2 – You Are My Destiny,” which aired on Nov 22nd.
In the broadcast, Aiki said she lives five minutes away from her in-laws. Aiki said, “At one time, I went to my in-laws’ house almost every day and had dinner. I was worried in the beginning because people around me, those who haven’t gotten married yet, asked me if I was uncomfortable because we live too close to my in-laws. Rather, my in-laws always ask me about my day off so that they can ask me to leave the kid to them to take care of on those days,” expressing her appreciation for her parents-in-law in sharing childcare with her. Aiki said, “They suddenly gave me something in a hurry when we met before the pre-wedding meeting. They gave me pocket money. They liked me a lot.”
On the other hand, Aiki’s parents were confused by their daughter’s too early marriage. Aiki said, “My parents didn’t know we’d get married this early. At the pre-wedding meeting, my mother said, ‘She is not good at cooking,’ but my mother-in-law replied, ‘It’s okay, she can learn.’ And when my mom said, ‘She also doesn’t know how to do house chores,’ my parents-in-law said, ‘They can do it together.’ My parents were happy that my in-laws are trustworthy, and decided to seize a date for the wedding immediately.”
In response to singer Lee Ji-hoon‘s remarks, “My mother-in-law is only six years younger than me,” Aiki said, “I’m 18 years younger than my mom. She got married early, so she got to see her son-in-law early too. My mother was born in 1971. My mom kept calling my husband using formal speech even during our earlier days as a married couple.”
Aiki’s husband is 4 years older than her and 14 years younger than his mother-in-law. SBS’s “Same Bed Different Dreams Season 2 – You Are My Destiny” airs every Monday at 10:30 p.m.
