ahof baseball game controversy

K-pop boy group AHOF has come under fire after members were accused of violating spectator etiquette while filming content in the stands during a professional baseball game. Following growing criticism from baseball fans, the group’s agency, F&F Entertainment, issued an official apology on June 15.

In a statement posted on the agency’s official social media accounts, F&F Entertainment expressed regret for the incident. The company stated: “We sincerely apologize to the players and spectators who experienced discomfort due to our artist’s filming activities at the baseball stadium on June 14.” The agency acknowledged that it failed to adequately consider how the filming could interfere with both the game and the viewing experience of other attendees.

According to the statement, the company recognized that the players and spectators should have been the top priority and admitted that its preparation and consideration were insufficient.

The controversy began during a game between the Samsung Lions and the SSG Landers held in Daegu on June 14. AHOF members Steven and Zeun participated in ceremonial first-pitch events before moving to the spectator area. While watching the game, the two idols reportedly filmed their own content from the stands, which quickly became the subject of criticism.

Baseball fans who attended the game claimed that the members were filming with camera flashes turned on while seated among spectators. The issue gained wider attention after footage of the scene appeared during the live broadcast and subsequently spread across online communities and social media platforms.

Many viewers argued that the behavior distracted both players and fellow spectators. Online comments included criticisms such as:

  • Does the spectator section look like a filming set?
  • Their actions disrupted people’s ability to focus on the game.
  • There wasn’t enough consideration for the players or other fans.

The controversy quickly escalated, prompting the agency’s public response the following day.

AHOF was formed through the SBS audition program Universe League and officially debuted last year. The group has continued to build its fanbase through music releases, performances, and self-produced content. However, the recent incident has sparked discussion about proper conduct at sporting events, particularly when celebrities attend games as invited guests.

In its apology, F&F Entertainment emphasized that it takes the criticism seriously and acknowledged the importance of respecting both athletes and spectators at sporting events. The company is expected to implement stricter precautions for future public appearances to prevent similar situations from occurring.
