Ahn Bo-hyun talks about the difference in aura between when he has short and long hair
Actor Ahn Bo-hyun mentioned that his appearance clearly changes depending on his hairstyle.
On Oct 25th, Ahn Bo-hyun told various stories in an online interview related to Netflix’s original series “My Name”. Ahn Bo-hyun, who played Goo Woong with long hair in tvN’s “Yumi’s Cells”, takes the role of Jeon Pil-do – an ace detective of the drug investigation team – and shows his relatively short hair in “My Name“.
Ahn Bo-hyun smilingly said, “Objectively and subjectively, my ‘hair style’ problem is so serious.” He recalled that before becoming an actor, he hated the clear difference he felt between when he had short and long hair. The actor explained, “I maintained my short hair for a while then changed it to long hair. Many people didn’t recognize me and said ‘It doesn’t seem like you’, so I hated it at first.” However, Ahn Bo-hyun confessed that the situation has gotten better as he is able to describe various expressions now.
He announced that he overcame the complex, “As an actor, I think it’s great now.” Ahn Bo-hyun shared that his long hair style in “Yumi’s Cells” seemed to have shown a very different color, so he thought it was the best move. Besides, he said that it was good to be able to show viewers various aspects in “My Name” as the atmosphere was different thanks to the difference in hair length between the first half and the second half of the series.
Ahn Bo-hyun also revealed his extraordinary aspiration, “I don’t mind shaving my head for work. I want it to fit the role.” Meanwhile, Ahn Bo-hyun debuted in 2016 with the movie “Hiya“. Since then, he has appeared in KBS2’s “Descendants of the Sun”, tvN’s “Her Private Life”, JTBC’s “Itaewon Class”, MBC’s “Kairos” and has been receiving a lot of love for his tall height and warm appearance.
