“Agency” Son Na Eun – Hit or Miss? Lacking charisma compared to Lee Bo Young, bad vocalization

With charisma that lacks 20% to confront Lee Bo Young, Son Na Eun desperately needs to make a strenuous effort.

In JTBC’s Saturday-Sunday drama “Agency,” Son Na Eun finally returned to VC Planning.

“Agency” (directed by Lee Chang Min/written by Song Soo Han) is showing the potential of Kang Han Na (Son Na Eun), the youngest daughter of the VC group. She looks like an immature airhead, but can never be looked down on. She strategically used her father, Chairman Kang Yong Ho (Song Young Chang), to increase the number of SNS followers. To her grandfather, CEO Wang of VC group, she has the material of “a real businessman who does business with her intuition, not her head.”

Therefore, Kang Han Na is drawing attention as a key figure who can shake up the fierce internal war between Go Ah In (Lee Bo Young) and Choi Chang Soo (Cho Seong Ha). The appearance of Kang Han Na accentuates the complex dynamics happening inside VC, proven by the extreme attitudes of Go Ah In and Choi Chang Soo.

Meanwhile, after the latest episode of “Agency”, viewers are unsatisfied with Son Na Eun’s relatively small presence and lacking charisma in the drama. To them, Lee Bo Young carried the drama alone on her back.

Kang Han Na is not just an immature granddaughter of a rich family, but a three-dimensional character with talent and a sense in doing business. Some pointed out that her vocalization, which seems to be whining, failed to portray the charisma of her character.

On Jan 16th, according to Nielsen Korea, the 4th episode of JTBC’s Saturday-Sunday drama “Agency,” which aired the previous day, recorded an 8.9% viewer rating (hereinafter based on paid households). This is a 2.4% increase from 6.5% in the 3rd episode, breaking its own record.

However, in the long run, Lee Bo Young’s struggle might not be enough to continue pushing the ratings up. This is why a strenuous effort is highly needed from Son Na Eun.
