The 2049 rating of MBC’s “Hangout with Yoo”, which parodied JTBC’s drama “Reborn Rich” wittily, topped the entertainment category.
According to the ratings research company Nielsen Korea on Jan 16th, “Hangout with Yoo” (directed by Park Chang Hoon, Kim Jin Yong, Jang Woo Sung, Wang Jong Seok, Lee Min Jae/written by Choi Hye Jung), which aired on Jan 14th, ranked first among Saturday entertainment programs with a household rating of 7.5% (based on the metropolitan area). In particular, the 2049 rating, a key indicator of channel competitiveness, was 4.4% (based on the metropolitan area), ranking first among all programs including dramas and entertainment shows on Saturday. Along with this, “Hangout with Yoo” 2049 rating achieved the top spot among all entertainment programs in the second week of January (Jan 9th~15th).
On this day’s broadcast, the kidnapping case of Jin Do Jun Ha (Jeong Jun Ha) and the enthusiastic investigation of detectives at the “Hangout Police Station” were depicted. Team leader Yoo (Yoo Jae Suk), Jin Chul (Park Jin Joo), Jae Sik (Lee Mi Joo) and “The Outlaws” detectives Yoon Kae Sang (Haha), Mi Chin Kae (Shin Bong Sun), Seok Gu (Lee Yi Kyung) showed their crazy teamwork, causing laughter. The scene where Jin Do Jun Ha, who is imprisoned in a mysterious room, struggles to find clues became the best minute as it got the highest rating per minute of 8.8%.
“Hangout with Yoo” is gaining popularity as the chemistry of the 7 members builds up as the episodes go on. At the end of 2022, it delivered fun and touching moments through “Get All Members in the Van” and “Hangout Restoration Shop”. It announced a good start by starting 2023 with “Reborn Rich kidnapping case”.
