Surpassing both TWICE and BLACKPINK, aespa’s ‘Girls’ record the highest record sales of a K-pop girl group’s album in the history

Aespa has set a new record for the most album sales by a K-pop girl group with the second mini album ‘Girls’.

Aespa‘s 2nd mini-album “Girls” released on July 8, took #1 on Circle’s (formerly Gaon) July album chart with sales of 1,645,255 copies. This achievement makes “Girls” the best-selling album by a girl group on Circle.

The number exceeds the first full-length album “The Album” of BlackPink, which used to record the highest cumulative record sales of K-pop girl groups in history with more than 1.4 million copies.

In addition, with this album, aespa entered the 3rd place on the US Billboard’s main chart ‘Billboard 200’, achieving the highest ranking of K-pop girl groups this year. Among all K-pop girl groups, it is the second highest ranking after BlackPink (2nd), and has the same ranking as Twice (3rd).

On the other hand, aespa will participate in ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS @HUMAN CITY_SUWON’ to be held at the Suwon World Cup Stadium on August 20th.
