Since when did idols even get criticized for not shedding tears when receiving awards. This is unfair for aespa!
aespa was recognized as the most impressive KPOP rookie in 2021 since they have been carrying out active promotions. In particular, aespa achieved lots of prominent achievements within their first year of debut. From winning music shows to “all-kill” awards, such as Rookie Award, Bonsang, and even Daesang, aespa girls have filled up their rooms with splendid trophies.
Achieving such meaningful and important awards in their careers, idols are normally seen getting emotional or even bursting into tears. However, it doesn’t mean idols have to cry whenever they get an award. Recently, Korean netizens have raised a heated discussion on aespa not crying while receiving a big award.
Many people think that aespa is really strong, others say that the group is emotionless:
- It’s hard to say… Because there’s no live audience these days, the feeling when receiving the award is different. Anyone who is a Kpop fan should know this. And the singers who received a Daesang or a bigger award don’t even cry, why should aespa cry?

- They were lipsyncing, why would they cry?
- Don’t take what most people do for granted.
- Like TWICE also receives many big awards, were they all crying? But to be honest, it’s also weird. Maybe it’s because there’s no audience, so there’s not much emotion.

- They didn’t cry doesn’t mean that there’s no sincerity or anything. It’s possibly because there is no audience.
