With Savage’s impressive achievements, aespa asserts themselves as the top girl group of the 4th generation!
After the admirable success of Next Level, aespa officially returned on October 5 with the first mini-album in their career called Savage. The MV for the title song of the same name has also been released.
As expected, aespa’s digital achievements were absolutely incredible immediately right after the release of Savage. Within an hour of its release, the song reached #1 on Bugs, #4 on MelOn, and #5 on Genie.
It’s worth noting that debuting in the top 5 on the reformed MelOn chart is extremely difficult. And Savage is the first and only song to do this. This achievement helps the group surpass a series of big names like BTS, Red Velvet, or NCT 127.
Top songs with the highest debut rankings since the reform of MelOn chart:
- 4th place – Savage (aespa)
- 6th place – My Universe (Coldplay x BTS)
- 8th place – Queendom (Red Velvet)
- 9th – Sticker (NCT 127)
Looking at this list, it is clear that SM artists, besides BTS, dominate the current digital music chart. And as for aespa’s Savage, after just over 5 hours of release, the song took the number 1 spot on Bugs, Genie and MelOn. The song is ranked 18th on FLO, in particular. Thus, Savage has a high chance of achieving Real-time All-kill.
