Girl group aespa’s “Better Things” was selected as one of “Best Songs of 2023” by The New York Times. Additionally, aespa was listed among the “25 Most Influential Women of 2023” by The Financial Times

The New York Times recently announced “Best Songs of 2023” through their official website, and aespa was the only K-pop artist listed. The New York Times revealed the reason for selecting “Better Things”, “Cowbells, handclaps and piano chords drive ‘Better Things’, a K-pop kiss-off with ingeniously cascading vocal harmonies and absolutely no regrets.”

The Financial Times, a major British business magazine, announced the list of “25 Most Influential Women of 2023” through their official website on Nov 30th (local time). aespa was named in the “Creators” category along with pop star Beyoncé, actress-producer Margot Robbie, fashion designer Phoebe Philo, etc., and was the only K-pop artist to be selected.

Regarding aespa, The Financial Times gave a favorable review, “While the top tiers of the Korean charts have been dominated by boy bands, a new wave of girl groups has been climbing the ranks. In the two years since they released their first album, aespa have set and then broken a series of records for K-pop girl groups, becoming the first to pass one million first-week sales with three consecutive albums, as well as playing Coachella and launching a world tour.
