On December 15, the mother of child actor Lim Si-hyun shared her experience on social media after her son filmed a commercial alongside aespa’s Karina. Lim Si-hyun appeared as the child version of actor Byun Woo-seok, acting opposite Karina in the Google Gemini ad.
The commercial, released through YouTube channel Dolphiners Films, features Byun Woo-seok, IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, and aespa’s Karina, and has been drawing widespread interest since its release.
According to Lim Si-hyun’s mother, Karina showed exceptional care throughout the shoot. “She kept worrying that Si-hyun might be cold during filming,” she wrote. “She even gave him her own personal heater and looked after him until the very end, even though it was freezing.”
She added that her son wasn’t feeling his best due to the cold weather, yet Karina continued to encourage and take care of him until filming wrapped.
The moment carried extra meaning, as the shoot took place on Lim Si-hyun’s birthday. His mother noted, “He said filming with Karina was the best birthday present he could have received.”
She also expressed pride in her son’s role, jokingly describing it as “the Byun Woo-seok character who was raised by Karina,” and shared how honored they felt to be part of the project.
