Actress Lim Ji Yeon mentions her lover – Lee Do Hyun in an emotional acceptance speech at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards 

Actress Lim Ji Yeon won the “Best Supporting Actress award” in the TV category at the 59th “Baeksang Arts Awards”.

On April 28th, the 59th “Baeksang Arts Awards” is held on Incheon Paradise City, Incheon. Lim Ji Yeon proudly won “Best Supporting Actress” in the TV category for her acting performance on “The Glory”. In her acceptance speech, Lim Ji Yeon welled up with tears. 

She said, “Thank you, writer Kim Eun Sook and director Ahn Gil Ho of ‘The Glory’ for giving me the opportunity. It was an honor to just participate together”.

She also shared joy with other castmates in “The Glory”, saying, “I am so grateful for Hye Kyo, Hye Ran, Sung Il, my beloved gang of bullies, and Do Hyun, who have always accepted my lack”. Netizens are pleasantly surprised when Lee Do Hyun was mentioned in the speech, as he and Ji Yeon recently went public about their relationship. 

The rest of the speech went, “I’m still afraid of acting, so I’m always frustrated and blame myself every time, but sometimes I think, ‘Am I unhappy?’ and ‘Is what I want to do and what I’m good at a different thing?’ So today, I want to tell myself in front of my respectful seniors and colleagues. You worked so hard living as Yeon Jin and you’re doing well enough…” said Ji Yeon while starting sobbing. 

Lim Ji Yeon went on to shout a famous line from “The Glory”, “That’s so cool, Yeon Jin!”, drawing cheers from the audience. Writer Kim Eun Sook in the audience was smiling broadly.

To conclude, Lim Ji Yeon said with pride, “I will become a good actress who can do well no matter what kind of work, role, and effort given to me in the future”

Most recently, Lim Ji Yeon played the role of a high school tormentor Park Yeon Jin in the Netflix original series “The Glory”.
