“Under the Queen’s Umbrella” actress Jeon Hye Won, “This is my first historical drama and I’m really grateful to Kim Hye Soo”
Jeon Hye Won expressed her feelings after tvN’s Sat-Sun drama “Under the Queen’s Umbrella” ended.
Through her agency Y.ONE Entertainment, Jeon Hye Won said, “My time with ‘Under the Queen’s Umbrella’ went by too quickly. I want to sincerely thank all the viewers who supported Cho Wol and Grand Prince Muan. I hope everyone could smile happily at the story of the two.”
In the drama, Jeon Hye Won plays the role of Cho Wol, the lover of Grand Prince Muan, the third son of Queen Hwa Ryeong (Kim Hye Soo). Through “Under the Queen’s Umbrella”, Jeon Hye Won also tried historical drama acting for the first time. Recalling the filming period, the actress said, “I was unfamiliar with the material and had difficulties with the lines and voice tone. But thanks to the help of the director and the staff, I was able to enjoy the filming and act well.”
Regarding her chemistry with Yoon Sang Hyun, who appears as Grand Prince Muan, she said, “Since we’re same-age rookies, we helped each other a lot. Yoon Sang Hyun was such a mood maker and he created pleasant moments not only in the drama but also on the filming set.”
Lastly, Jeon Hye Won shared, “It was such an honor for me to be able to act with senior actress Kim Hye Soo and many great actors whom I respect. I’m especially grateful to Kim Hye Soo sunbaenim, who seriously discussed the way to express the feelings of Cho Wol with me in the scenes where Cho Wol has conversations with Queen Hwa Ryeong”.
Delivering her greeting to the viewers who loved Cho Wol and “Under the Queen’s Umbrella”, she said, “I’m happy to be part of this well-loved work and I’ll work harder to present new sides and new characters in the future”.
Starring in a series of popular works, such as “Our Beloved Summer”, “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)”, “20th Century Girl” and “Under the Queen’s Umbrella”, in 2022, Jeon Hye Won gained recognition for her impressive stable acting skills and emerged as a rising star. She will play her first lead role in KBS Drama Special “Silence of the Lambs”, which is scheduled to air on December 21st.
