A top star asked for a 200 million discount and failed to purchase a 10 billion won building
The story of a top star who tried to lower prices while buying a whole building is attracting attention.
On the May 25th episode of the KBS2’s entertainment program “Problem Child in House”, real estate consultant Park Jong Bok revealed behind-the-scenes stories of his business that are related to celebrities.
According to Park Jong Bok, he owns 50 billion won (around 40 million USD) of real estate, and has a hard time scheduling to appear on the show. “Even if I get a call from broadcasting stations, I find it hard to make time, because I’m busy with my main job. We recently sold real estate properties to Han Hyo Joo and Lee Jong Suk”, he said.
Talking about previous incidents with celebrities, the consultant added: “One time, this A-list star attempted to ask for a 200 million won (158,000 USD) discount while buying a building worth 10 billion won (7.9 million USD). But the owner refused to sell it.”
“People have been saying that the prices of real estate in a district will improve if a celebrity bought a property there, but honestly, you have to consider the level of popularity. For instance, prices would rise in similar levels if Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young bought something”, he said, drawing laughter from fellow guests and MCs.
