Hyun-ah said she had been cast in the movie “The Wailing” in the past.
Director Na Hong-jin’s movie “The Wailing” gained a lot of popularity when it was released in 2016 as it even surpassed “Captain America: Civil War”, topping the domestic box office.
In addition, several lines from the movie such as “What’s important?” and “Never be misled” have been mentioned in various broadcasts as the movie become Korea’s leading horror thriller film.
It is known that the role of Moo-myung played by actress Chun Woo-hee at the time was first suggested to singer Hyun-ah.
Hyun-ah said she had been cast in the movie “The Wailing” in the past. She revealed, “Director Na Hong-jin came to me in person and suggested my participation in ‘The Wailing.’ I was also curious about the reason why he wanted to cast me.” She then explained that the director said he wanted to see her energy on screen and bring out a new look of her, saying, “I was grateful that he saw me like that.”
However, Hyun-ah said, “It’s an area that I don’t dare come across. I also have a lot of fears, and I still have a lot of greed for the music stage. I have no intention of acting now,” she said, eventually rejecting the offer.
Since then, Hyun-ah has proudly expressed her life view, saying, “I don’t regret not jumping into acting at all.” Hyun-ah is still successfully promoted as a solo artist.
