This is a rare time Son Ye Jin’s acting receives a negative review.
Son Ye Jin has been drawing the most attention among Korean actresses lately as she recently announced marriage to Hyun Bin ahead of the release of her new drama, JTBC’s “Thirty Nine”. Although “Thirty Nine” has 3 female leads alongside 3 male romantic partners, Son Ye Jin still takes the spotlight with the most screen time. This is understandable because Son Ye Jin is an A-lister. Apart from “Hospital Playlist” star Jeon Mi Do, the rest of the cast do not seem to have enough impact to attract the audience.
With only the first 2 episodes, Son Ye Jin has shown off her versatile portrayal of emotions, from joyful to desperate. However, a Korean netizen still claims they find Son Ye Jin’s acting unimpressive and feels similar to her previous dramas. Even her hairstyle is the same. Some of her cute expressions are even said to be “inappropriate for a 39-year-old woman.”
Son Ye Jin’s fans find this negative review nonsense. Son Ye Jin has been appreciated for her acting for almost 20 years. In “Thirty Nine”, it is true that Son Ye Jin does not look much different from her image in real life or previous drama roles, but that is not important because she is playing a character of her actual age. As for acting, not only fans but most viewers are satisfied with Son Ye Jin’s performance, especially in her emotional crying scene at the end of episode 2.
