Emerging herself as a rising star in the Korean film industry, but interestingly, Gong Seung-yeon didn’t intend to become an actor at first. Gong Seung-yeon was cast by an SM official at a gayageum competition when she was an elementary school student then became a trainee at SM Entertainment.

Many expected her to be in a SM girl group, but she failed to debut despite spending 10 years of training. After that, Gong Seung-yeon made her first acting debut in the 2012 drama “I Love Lee Taly” produced by SM. Through this work, she changes her career path from being an idol to an actor. She left SM, took acting classes, and started her new life from the beginning.
