Actress Ha Yoon Kyung is receiving praise for showcasing a new side of her acting in JTBC’s drama The Apartment Job, stepping away from the warm, gentle image that has defined much of her career.

Starring opposite veteran actor Ji Sung, Ha has established herself as one of the drama’s central figures, portraying a resourceful job seeker whose determination and quick thinking drive much of the story.

Ha Yoon Kyung plays Kang Ha Ri, a young woman struggling to find employment while facing mounting financial difficulties. After falsely telling her older sister that she passed the bar exam, Kang Ha Ri finds herself in desperate need of money. She ultimately agrees to Park Hae Kang’s (Ji Sung) proposal to pose as his wife, setting the stage for the drama’s central storyline.

Rather than portraying Kang Ha Ri as simply optimistic or kind-hearted, Ha presents her as a practical survivor who makes difficult choices to overcome hardship. Her grounded performance captures both the character’s vulnerability and resilience, adding realism to the role.

Since making her acting debut in the 2015 stage production Ballad for Roxanne, Ha Yoon Kyung has become known for playing bright and compassionate characters.

She appeared as Heo Sun Bin in Hospital Playlist before gaining widespread recognition as Choi Su Yeon in ENA’s hit drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
