During a recent TikTok livestream, MC Mong shared plans for his long-awaited comeback performance. “We’re finally holding a concert. August 14 and August 16 at YES24 Live Hall. There’s less than a month left. You’ll finally get to see me.”

Following the livestream, fan accounts also circulated posts claiming the concerts had been confirmed, stating that performances would take place once per day on August 14 and August 16 at YES24 Live Hall. No ticket sales or reservation details have been released.

In May last year, MC Mong announced he would step away from his producing roles at One Hundred and Big Planet Made due to severe depression and worsening health.

At the time, he revealed that he planned to study abroad after completing a new album and one final concert. He said: “Because of severe depression, surgery, and declining health, making music became extremely difficult. For my health and personal growth, I decided to study abroad. I’ll definitely release an album this year and hold a concert before leaving.”

Since then, the singer has remained active through TikTok livestreams, regularly communicating with fans.

MC Mong’s comeback comes amid multiple controversies. During his livestreams, he denied allegations involving the misuse of company funds and illegal gambling. He also sparked controversy after mentioning several entertainment industry figures by name while raising allegations of illegal gambling.

Separately, MBC’s investigative program PD Notebook reported allegations that ₩12 billion (approximately US$8.7 million) loaned to MC Mong by One Hundred Chairman Cha Ga Won was used to repay gambling debts. MC Mong strongly denied the claims, insisting that he never used company funds for gambling.

Despite MC Mong publicly announcing the dates and venue, YES24 Live Hall says the performances have not been officially scheduled. A representative from the venue told SBS Entertainment News: “As of now, we have not received any inquiries regarding an MC Mong concert. It is also true that the venue has not been booked.”

The venue’s official August schedule also does not list an MC Mong concert, and August 14 and August 16 remain available for rental, suggesting the booking has not yet been finalized.

While MC Mong has expressed confidence that his long-awaited concerts will take place, the lack of an official venue booking has left uncertainty surrounding the performances.

Fans are now waiting to see whether the concerts will be formally confirmed and mark the singer’s return to the stage after an extended hiatus.
