DAY6’s Young K appeared as a guest on the June 28 episode of MBC’s variety show Best Peak, where he discussed his songwriting career, OST work, and the success of DAY6’s concerts.
During the broadcast, Young K shared that he has participated in writing and composing many of DAY6’s songs throughout the group’s career. He also revealed that he officially became a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) on January 29. As of the broadcast date, 219 self-composed songs had been registered under his name.

Host Boom highlighted the achievement by telling viewers: “He has more registered copyrighted songs than G-Dragon.” The remark astonished everyone on set.
Comedian Heo Kyung Hwan jokingly added: “When Jensen Huang visited Korea, why didn’t you go? With this level of quality, you should’ve been there.” His playful comment drew laughter from the cast.
Boom also mentioned Young K’s recent OST success, asking whether his latest soundtrack had become a hit. Young K explained that he took part in producing the second OST, “Season of Us,” for the drama My Royal Nemesis as a favor for his close friend, actor Heo Nam-jun. The singer’s involvement once again showcased his versatility as both an idol and songwriter.

Young K also shared an update on DAY6’s recent activities, revealing that the group successfully held a concert at Goyang Stadium, attracting approximately 80,000 attendees.
Curious about the financial side of such a large-scale event, comedian Jang Dong-min asked: “If 20,000 to 30,000 people come to your concert, how much do you actually make?” Rather than giving a specific figure, Young K humorously replied: “It’s delicious.” His witty response immediately sparked laughter in the studio, cleverly avoiding revealing his actual earnings while implying that the concerts had been financially rewarding.

Born in 1993, Young K debuted as a member of DAY6 in September 2015. The band is set to celebrate another milestone by holding its solo concert, “The DECADE FINALE in SEOUL,” over three consecutive days from July 3 to July 5 at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
With his growing songwriting catalog, successful OST projects, and sold-out concerts, Young K continues to strengthen his reputation as one of K-pop’s most accomplished singer-songwriters.
