On May 26, the production presentation for Eyes was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul. Director Yeom Ji Ho attended the event alongside cast members Shin Min Ah, Kim Nam Hee, Lee Seung Ryong, and Kim Young Ah.
During the event, director Yeom Ji Ho explained the casting process and revealed why Shin Min Ah was the perfect choice for the lead role.

“Acting ability was the number one priority for every character. Shin Min Ah’s character Seo Jin appears in almost every scene except for two. We needed someone who could carry the center of the story well. We also wanted a face audiences hadn’t seen in this genre before,” the director shared.
Shin Min Ah revealed that the screenplay immediately drew her in because of its emotional depth and psychological tension.
“After reading the script, I thought it would become a thriller filled with very diverse emotions. Beyond playing two roles, I found the fear of gradually losing eyesight while uncovering the truth behind her twin sister’s death very interesting,” she explained.
The actress added that filming the movie became a completely new experience for her career.

“I was curious about how to portray those emotions, and I wanted to challenge myself. While filming, I really felt like I was experiencing something new,” she said.
In Eyes, Shin Min Ah plays twin sisters who share the same appearance but possess very different personalities. The actress explained that balancing those subtle differences became one of the biggest challenges during filming.
“Although the twins look identical, their personalities are completely different. Both are losing their eyesight, but they each carry different feelings of inferiority and emotional wounds,” Shin Min Ah shared.
She also revealed the physical preparation required for the role, including practicing scenes where her vision was restricted.

“I practiced wearing bandages and acting without being able to see properly. Through that process, I could indirectly feel the fear of blindness, and I tried hard to express that realistically,” she explained.
Eyes follows Seo Jin, a woman slowly losing her sight due to a hereditary disease, as she investigates the suspicious death of her twin sister and uncovers a terrifying truth hidden behind the case.
The suspense thriller is scheduled to premiere in South Korea on June 24.
