Moon Ga Young is reportedly preparing for another major film project following her recent rise as one of Korea’s most sought-after actresses.
According to an exclusive report by OSEN on May 26, Moon Ga Young has received an offer to star in the upcoming film Two Piece, the newest project from director Min Yong Geun. The actress is expected to lead the movie as one of its central characters.
Two Piece marks Min Yong Geun’s first film in three years following Soulmate. The director previously gained attention for works including Re-encounter and Soulmate, both praised for their emotional storytelling and strong character-driven narratives.
Industry insiders reportedly described the upcoming movie as a female-led drama centered around two women whose relationship spirals toward destruction, creating an intense and dramatic story.
The project has already attracted attention within the Korean film industry after being selected for this year’s Korean Film Council production support program. Reports stated that the movie secured approximately 1.6 billion KRW in funding, highlighting strong confidence in both the screenplay and overall production quality even before filming begins.
Moon Ga Young’s casting news arrives shortly after her successful performance in the film If We Were, where she played the female lead Jung Won. The movie drew approximately 2.6 million moviegoers and became one of the standout Korean box office hits earlier this year.
Her performance also earned widespread acclaim, ultimately leading to her victory in the Best Actress category at the prestigious Baeksang Arts Awards.
Moon Ga Young first debuted as a child actress in 2006 through the horror film Bloody Reunion. She later gained major recognition through dramas including Jealousy Incarnate, Tempted, Welcome to Waikiki 2, and Find Me in Your Memory.
Her global popularity skyrocketed after starring in the hit drama True Beauty in 2020, which achieved massive success internationally. Since then, she has continued building a strong filmography through projects including The Interest of Love, Delightfully Deceitful, My Dearest Nemesis, and Seocho-dong.
The actress has also recently confirmed her appearance in the upcoming drama adaptation of the popular webtoon Whale Star. In addition, reports surfaced that she is positively considering signing with new agency Fantagio.
